Mackie Rich is a high school senior at Wakefield School in The Plains, Virginia.  He has been a resident of The Plains since 2002.  He will be a freshman at Columbia University in the fall of 2018.

 

In the summer of 2017, he attended the Virginia Governor's School for the Humanities.  There, he took a class on wrongful conviction.  Both of his parents have law degrees and were lawyers for short times.
